TED University English Language Education Program Advisory Board Members
Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas Belgin Elmas completed her bachelor's and doctoral degrees at Anadolu University and earned her master's degree at Bilkent University with a Fulbright Scholarship. All of her degrees are in the field of English Language Teaching. Between 1989 and 2019, she served in various academic and administrative positions at Anadolu University. Since May 2019, she has been serving as the Chair of the English Language Teaching Department at TED University. During her tenure at Anadolu University, she served on several committees, including the Quality Commission and the Bologna Coordination Commission. She is also among the founding members of the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Language Education Programs (DEDAK). In addition, she held various administrative roles, including Vice Director of the Graduate School of Educational Sciences from 2004 to 2008 and Director of the School of Foreign Languages from 2014 to 2019. In her doctoral dissertation, Elmas investigated the causes of foreign language learners’ anxiety related to speaking and writing. Her current research interests include teacher education, technology integration in language education, distance education, and curriculum development. She has supervised numerous master's theses on a variety of topics and has also supervised two doctoral dissertations focusing on assessment and evaluation in foreign language education. Elmas has worked as both a principal investigator and researcher in projects funded by TÜBİTAK and university research funds (BAP), and she has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences. She teaches courses on language teaching methodologies, foreign language education for young learners, digital material development, and individual differences in language learning, among other subjects.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Bilki
Zeynep Bilki received her bachelor's degree from Boğaziçi University and completed both her master's and doctoral studies in Foreign Language Education at the University of Iowa in the United States. She is currently a faculty member at TED University, where she teaches undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses, serves as department chair, and leads national and international research projects. Her research interests include AI-assisted language learning and assessment, technology-enhanced foreign language teaching, second language writing, virtual exchange, and teacher education. Bilki has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and has served as both principal investigator and researcher in numerous national and international projects. She continues to conduct research and development work in the areas of teacher education and digital transformation in education.
Çağrı Ayhan Çağrı Ayhan is a fourth-year undergraduate student in the English Language Teaching program at TED University. Throughout his studies, he has gained knowledge and experience in language education, teaching methods, and educational technologies. He is also a member of the executive board of the TED University Language Community, where he contributes to the planning of student events and community activities. His interests include foreign language teaching and the effective use of technology in education.

Ali Merç Ali Merç has been working as an academic, teacher educator, and researcher in the field of English Language Teaching for over twenty years. He completed his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at Anadolu University. He currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Foreign Language Education at the Faculty of Education, Anadolu University, where he has also held positions such as department chair and program coordinator. His areas of specialization include teacher anxiety in foreign language teaching, self-efficacy, and classroom interaction. Merç has published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He has participated as a researcher in several TÜBİTAK projects and serves as a reviewer for various academic journals in his field. In addition to his academic work, he actively contributes to teacher education and professional development initiatives. |
Esra Karslı
Esra Karslı was born on April 8, 1971, in Ankara. She completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara. She graduated from Ankara High School in 1989 and later graduated from the English Department of the Faculty of Education at Dicle University after a four-year program. She began her professional career in the same year at Edirne Anatolian High School and worked for a total of 20 academic years at various Anatolian high schools. She later started working at Ziraat Mühendisleri Secondary School, where she has been serving for the past 13 years with great enjoyment and a strong sense of professional fulfillment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Satar Müge Satar is a Reader in Applied Linguistics at Newcastle University, UK, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her research focuses on technology-enhanced language learning and teaching, with particular attention to multimodal interaction in digital environments, social presence, and intercultural communication in online settings. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics, a BA in English Language Teaching, and an MA in Computer and Instructional Technologies. She also holds an associate professorship in Foreign Language Teaching.

Hüseyin Baran Yılmaz
Hüseyin Baran Yılmaz graduated from the English Language Teaching undergraduate program at TED University in 2022. He is currently working as an English teacher at TED Ankara College High School.
