Asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin Irgin has contributed to the edited volume (Çelik, S., Çelik, H., & Coombe, C., 2021) entitled Language Assessment and Test Preparation in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Education with her book chapter entitled “Testing and Assessment of Listening, Listening Test Task Types and Sample Test Items”. In this chapter, it is aimed to address the processes underlying listening skills, followed by a mention of different test task types used to assess the skill in different dimensions such as intensive, responsive, selective, and extensive. The use and suitability of different test task types and dimensions in different age and proficiency groups were also addressed. Considerations regarding the scoring of the listening skill were included as well. Lastly, the chapter suggested sample test items for different age and proficiency groups.
