TEDU English Language Education Department Research Assistant Mehmet Sak’s single-authored article entitled “Understanding the role of personality in explaining L2 learners’ DMC disposition” has been published in Foreign Language Annals, indexed by SSCI in Q1 category. Drawing on empirical data, the article makes the first attempt to discuss the relationship between personality psychology and “Directed Motivational Currents”, a goal-driven motivation type which has recently gained popularity in the literature on second language learning. The article also provides novel personality-informed suggestions to increase the pedagogical effectiveness of the related motivation type. Besides, the article is included within the scope of TÜBİTAK International Scientific Publications Incentive (UBYT) award and TEDÜ publication award.
