As part of an innovative pedagogy, volunteering 3rd year student ELT teachers registered for the “Technology Enhanced Language Learning” course at TEDU and students registered for the “Computer-Assisted Language Learning” module in the MA Applied Linguistics and TESOL degree at Newcastle University started to collaboratively work to complete 3 different tasks in Virtual Exchange setting using different online tools. This telecollaborative exchange provides the student ELT teachers with an opportunity for experiential learning in which they experience telecollaboration as a participant so that they can understand the complexity of such exchanges and how these exchanges can be used in English Language Teaching. Data from the volunteering participants in the virtual exchange will be analyzed as part of a research project “Virtual Exchange for Teacher Education: A Focus on Critical Digital Literacy” - conducted by the researchers from TED University English Language Education program (Dr. Zeynep Bilki and Ress. Asst. Mehmet Sak), and Newcastle University (Dr. Muge Satar Coen).
