Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike Ünal Gezer recently published a book chapter with Routledge. The book entitled English for Young Learners in Asia is edited by Subhan Zein (Australian National University) and Yuko Goto Butler (University of Pennsylvania). In her contribution to this edited volume, Dr. Ünal Gezer aimed to fill in the gap in pre-service English teacher training for young learners. In this empirically-oriented research study, data comprised pre-service English language teacher trainees’ reflections on early English learning contexts. The qualitative data analyses revealed emerging themes of pre-service reflections shed light on English for young learners-related theory, practice and policy in Turkey.
