On May 8, 2025, the “Future Educators: Career Planning and Professional Development” event, organized by TED University LS Society, was successfully held at the Ahmet Ersan Conference Hall. The event aimed to provide prospective teachers with valuable insights into career opportunities and professional development in the field of education.
Throughout the program, experts from various sectors shared inspiring presentations on career planning, academic applications, and international experiences with teacher candidates.
The event began with a session titled “From an Administrator's Perspective: Being an English Teacher in the TED Schools Ecosystem” by Sabiha Tunç, Director of the Foreign Languages Department at the TED Headquarters. Tunç offered an in-depth look into what it means to be a teacher within the TED Schools ecosystem.
Following that, Hüseyin Baran Yılmaz, a TED University graduate and currently an English teacher at TED Ankara College, shared his perspective in the session “From a Teacher's Perspective: Being an English Teacher in the TED Schools Ecosystem.” His personal journey from graduation to professional life provided meaningful inspiration for the attendees.
After a short break, Dr. Çiğdem Fidan delivered a presentation titled “Crafting the Ideal CV for Academic Applications,” offering practical tips on how to prepare a strong academic résumé. This was followed by Dr. Müge Olğun Baytaş, who presented an overview of graduate school application processes, offering participants a comprehensive guide to postgraduate education.
One of the most inspiring sessions was given by TED University alumna Elif Nur Uran, titled “Academic Career Journey from Türkiye to Italy.” She shared her academic path and international experience, offering valuable insights into planning a career abroad.
To close the event, Burak Efe Sarı, Marketing Coordinator at AIESEC Ankara, introduced AIESEC’s international volunteering and development opportunities, encouraging prospective teachers to explore global projects.
This event, designed to help teacher candidates navigate their career journeys, received great interest and appreciation for its interactive and informative format.
