Learner-Teacher Roles in Distance Education: Connectivity and Rhizomatic Learning!

Tarih:

Learning and teaching processes are a lifelong activity that takes place not only in structured formal environments such as schools and universities, but also in informal environments that are not structured with the developments in online networks and information technologies. The paradigm change experienced by defining education in this way requires questioning the roles of learner and teacher. Education is not just a linearly symmetrical process. It is an asymmetrical and chaotic process. From this point of view, it has become a necessity to employ network-based learning theories that explain learning as well as the roles of learner and teacher. There are two learning theories that meet this need. The first is the Connectivity theory, which explains learning in online networks, and the other is the Rhizomatic Learning Theory, which explains learner behavior.

In the changing and digitalizing world, education in general and second language acquisition in particular did not remain indifferent to this change. In this context, reflections on second language acquisition as well as current developments in the world of education will be held on April 27, 2021 with the Master's students in the ELEP 591 Seminar course with the moderation of Prof. Dr. Belgin Aydın by Anadolu University Open Education Faculty faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aras Bozkurt.
