"Online Film Club" and "Online Book Club" were established for the English Language Education Program students. Clubs will be run by the students of the English Language Education Program and will be organized as extracurricular activities with the participation of the program students. Students who request to register for clubs can fill out the forms below.
On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, a welcome meeting was held for our newly arrived students at TED University English Language Education Department. Our students, who have passed a long marathon and qualified to become English teachers, were informed about the kind of education they will receive during their education, what kind of projects they can participate in, and other academic and social opportunities offered to them. Students who were entitled to receive education in the department expressed their satisfaction for finding such a warm welcoming environment.
A contact meeting was held with the senior students of TED University English Language Education department about the teaching practice process in which they took their first step into teaching on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The functioning of the internship, which has an important place in the education life of our students, at both the faculty and department level, and our expectations from our teacher candidates were discussed. We wish our teacher candidates success in this process as they step into the profession.
We welcomed our new students with the 'Meet My Dean' event organized as part of the 2021-2022 Orientation Program. The event started with the speech of Our Dean Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kavak and continued with Vice President of English Language Education Program Dr. Arzu Kanat-Mutluoğlu's speech. At the end of the event, the academic staff came together in the Çim Amphitheater, met our new students and answered their questions. In addition, a souvenir photo was taken with our new students. As the department, we wish our students good health and success in the new academic year.
Graduates and students of TED Full Support Scholarship program, offered by Turkish Education Association to support the academic and social development of successful students with limited financial means, met at TED University campus. TED Full Support Scholarship is supported by our English Language Education Department in the preparation and execution of the English curriculum of the program.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Bilki’s co-authored article, entitled “Syntactic complexity in learner-generated research paper introductions: Rhetorical functions and level of move/ step realization”, has been published in an international peer-reviewed journal “Journal of English for Academic Purposes”.
