Per invitation of the editors, our faculty member of ELE Program, Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike Ünal Gezer has published in the edited volume “Policy Development in TESOL and Multilingualism: Past, Present and the Way Forward” by Springer. The book chapter by Dr. Ünal Gezer entitled ‘An Overview of Turkey’s Policy Development in TESOL and Multilingualism’ was accepted as a part of ‘The Way Forward’ sub-section of the edited volume.
A faculty member of our ELE Program, Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike ÜNAL GEZER, presented at two of the most prestigious associations in the field of applied linguistics, International Association of Applied Linguistics (Association Internationale de Linguistique Appliquée) AILA 2021 Congress and at an affiliate member association of AILA- American Association of Applied Linguistics- AAAL 2021 Conference to present her papers.
We bid farewell to our 2020 and 2021 graduates of English Language Education with ceremonies held on July 10 and 11, 2021. We congratulate our students and wish them success in their future lives. We also congratulate our student Ahmet Utku Bal, who became the first in the ranking of faculty in the 2019-2020 academic year.
On Thursday, July 8, 2021, we celebrated the graduation of our English Language Teaching Program 2021 graduates. The graduation celebration held with the participation of The Dean of Faculty of education, Prof. Dr. Yüksel Kavak and the faculty members of the department, TED Badges were presented to our graduate students. After the swearing-in ceremony, our graduates cut a cake and took a photo shoot.
We congratulate our graduates and wish them continued success.
Our graduates of English Language Education met online with the teacher candidates of the English Language Education Department on July 6, 2021. In the event, teacher candidates listened to their post-graduation experiences, and found a chance to ask questions about job interviews and work-life.
Juniors attending the ELE Program at TED University, Oğulcan Yavuz, Eda Balakbabalar, Gökçe Selen, and Özgenaz Morova have received URF-Undergraduate Research Fund- by Directorate of Research, Technology and Innovation at TED University. The research team started their research entitled Multilingualism in Ankara: A Linguistic Landscape Study on 24.06.2021 when the project received acceptance by the lead of Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike Ünal Gezer. We congratulate our students and the faculty member and wish them a successful project period.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Bilki, a faculty member of TED University, Faculty of Education, English Language Education Program, held a webinar on “Pedagogical and Methodological Challenges in Online Language Teaching”. As part of Başkent Öğretmen Atölyeleri VII series, the webinar aimed at helping language teachers question and describe their current online language teaching experiences and at providing some implications on effective online language teaching in light of recent global studies and literature.
