The Second TEDU ELT Research Seminar Was Held...

The second series of meetings titled "TEDU ELT Research Seminar," organized by the faculty of the English Language Education Department at TED University, was held.

During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ufuk Balaman provided information about the Erasmus+ Project titled "Digital Transformation of Language Teacher Education with Data Informed Evidence (DigiLTE)," of which he is the coordinator.

The article titled "Video-mediated collaborative lesson planning in virtual exchange among transnational teams of pre-service language teachers," authored by our faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ufuk Balaman and Dr. Instructor Semih Ekin from the English Language Education Department, has been published in the ReCall Journal, which is indexed in the SSCI category.

Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas has been elected Pearson GSE Ambassador for Turkey...

Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at TED University Faculty of Education, has been elected as Pearson GSE Ambassador for Turkey. The Global Scale of English (GSE), developed by Pearson to contribute to English language education, aims to measure the level of English in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills and shows what learners should learn in each skill according to their level.

The first in a series of meetings, organized with the aim of making the Department of English Language Teaching at Ted University more active in terms of research, sharing current research topics of faculty members, and listening to project studies conducted within the department, was held under the coordination of Assistant Professors Dr. Elif Burhan Horasanlı and Dr. Semih Ekin.

Erasmus+ KA220 HED project, “Digital Transformation of Language Teacher Education with Data Informed Evidence (DigiLTE)” has been funded (250.000€) by Turkish National Agency.

Our students visited TED schools through the TED Ambassadors project...

Our 4th-year students in the English Language Teaching Program conducted visits to various TED schools as part of the TED Ambassadors project. Elif Özkul and Cansu Pelin Altıntaş visited TED Samsun College, Muhammet Anıl Akkuş and Şeymanur Sevinç visited TED Çorum College, Yağmur Ermiş and Eslem Ural visited TED Ege College, and Berfin Ece Aslaner and Hiranur Horasan visited TED Atakent Esenyurt College, gaining valuable experiences over two days. During these visits, our students had the opportunity to observe the TED ecosystem by accompanying mentor teachers.

On December 2, 2023, Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas, the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at TED University, conducted a seminar with the parents of TED Mersin College on the topic of "First Language Acquisition and Foreign Language Teaching."

An Information Meeting was held within the Scope of the TED Ambassadors Project...

Our faculty organized an informational meeting for the TED Ambassadors project in collaboration with the TED General Headquarters and TED schools. Students who will represent our department in the project this semester, department coordinators, Foreign Languages Director from the TED General Headquarters, and mentor teachers from the TED schools that our students will visit attended the meeting. Following a brief introduction at the meeting, expectations from students within the scope of the project and the responsibilities of the students were discussed.
