Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ufuk Balaman and Dr. Lecturer Arzu Kanat Mutluoğlu's co-authored article titled 'The use of Video Enhanced Observation in video-mediated post-observation conversations on pre-service EFL teachers’ online practicum teaching' has been published in the SSCI-indexed journal System.

The book chapter co-authored by Prof. Dr. Gülsev Pakkan from the Department of English Language Education and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aydan Irgatoğlu has been published in the book "Total Physical Response" in the Language Teaching Approaches and Methods. This book has been prepared as a resource book for the course "Approaches and Methods in English Language Teaching" taught in the Departments of English Language Education in Education Faculties.

The joint-authored article by Dr. Elif Burhan Horasanlı, Associate Professor in the Department of English Language Education, on socio-cognitive approach and second language acquisition and teaching has been published in the SSCI-indexed International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching Journal.

On September 7-8, 2023, the second SCOFOLA'23 conference on "Challenges and Innovative Solutions in Foreign Language Teaching" was organized by the Foreign Languages School of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEÜ). The opening speech of the conference, titled "Emotionally Agile Teachers, Emotionally Agile Generations," was delivered by our Head of the English Language Teaching Department at TED University, Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas. Büşra Elmaderesi, who continued her education with us in our English Language Teaching undergraduate and graduate programs, and Şebnem Cengiz, who graduated from our graduate program, were entitled to go to Michigan and Arizona with Fulbright's FLTA Program this year.

One of our students, Büşra Elmaderesi, will continue their education at Michigan State, Less Commonly Taught Languages Program, and Şebnem Cengiz will continue their education at The University of Arizona, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies.

Our Head of Department Prof. Dr. Belgin Elmas wrote an article titled "When do we start dreaming in another language?” for Cumhuriyet Newspaper's 100th Anniversary Education Special issue. In this special issue, academics and experts, including Prof. Dr. Selçuk Şirin, Prof. Dr. Üstün Dökmen, Ali Ekber Şahin, Futurist Ufuk Tarhan, told about the goals of raising a human being for the second century, and what has been done and what needs to be done in the way of modern education.

English Language Teaching Department senior students Dilara İşyar, Elif Nur Uran, Neriman Dilay Koca and Zehra Betül Kalkan will present the LAD project on which they are working on Sustainable Development Goals in the 7th grade English lesson curriculum with digital storytelling. The presentation will be via Zoom on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 16.00
